Mums are the ones who take care of everyone but who look’s after them? They are also the ones who take responsibility for their children’s health, give medicines and organize after school activities. Many mums work and juggle housework with childcare. They are the main users of natural therapists in Australia. Too many children are treated poorly by doctors, stuffed with antibiotics and given drugs for behavioural problems. We want to educate mums about the benefits of changing the diet and adding minerals and supplementation and the huge improvements you can see when you do that.
Autism, ADHD and learning difficulties are on the rise. 1 in 59 children are now diagnosed with Autism. 1 in 9 Australians have asthma – around 2.5 million. Food allergy occurs in around 1 in 20 children and in about 2 in 100 adults (https://www.allergy.org.au/patients/food-allergy/food-allergy). Eczema (also known as atopic dermatitis) is most common in infants where it occurs in around 1 in 5 children under 2 years of age. Modern medicine is not able to cope with the massive increase in these type of chronic conditions or allergic diseases – it’s an epidemic! This is where natural medicine is very effective. We may be able to help!
Our approach is not to suppress symptoms but to work with the bodies natural healing response and we do that with evidence based supplements and often short term dietary changes.
Many mums need support and advice to enable them to stick to a course of natural treatment, and education to enable them to succeed at their chosen course of action.
Let’s not forget Dads in the equation for they will often be carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders…they may be working full time and missing out on their children growing up, or are taking the responsibility for providing financial support. Or maybe they are providing the main caring role as their other half has gone to work full time. Modern family dynamics have changed so much and therefore men’s roles have too. Often they are not prepared and not equipped to deal with those changes. Families may have been split through divorce, grief or addictions. Dads may be suffering myriad health issues from diabetes, adrenal exhaustion, hay fever, high cholesterol to high blood pressure.
If this sounds like you and you would like to make some positive changes in your family’s lifestyle today then give us a ring today!
We have a 24 hour answering service and will get back to you ASAP.
I look forward to meeting you and helping you on your journey towards better health!
A new review into the 16 Natural Therapies that were excluded from the Private Health Insurance rebates in April 2019 is being undertaken. In July the Terms of Reference (ToR) for the Review opened, calling for the Industry to submit evidence on the clinical effectiveness of any of the 16 Natural Therapies.
The Review will be conducted in two tranches:
• Tranche one: Naturopathy, Western Herbalism, Yoga, Tai Chi, Pilates and Shiatsu;
• Tranche two: Alexander Technique, Aromatherapy, Bowen Therapy, Buteyko,
Feldenkrais, Homeopathy, Iridology, Kinesiology, Reflexology and Rolfing.
ATMS (My Association – Australian Traditional Medicine Association) recommends that the Review focus on high-quality evidence, such as Randomised Control Trials (RCTs) and N-of-1 Trials, as well as Systematic Reviews. Further, this should not be limited to simply looking at the practice of the modality (which is what they did before) but rather look at the evidence that exists to support the use of Natural Therapies, in terms of vitamins, supplements and
herbs (which they did not do before! Go figure?!)
Charles Wurf, CEO of ATMS, said;
“It is particularly pleasing that the Review panel will
incorporate industry experts in research and clinical practice, and that the Review will cover
all 16 of the natural therapies in two stages.”
Natural Therapies are an important part of health care for many Australians, with 68.9%
using some form of complementary medicine every year. In Australia, there are over 28,000
small businesses in this sector, employing some 35,000 people and generating revenue of
$4.7 billion annually.
Medical research databases, such as PubMed and EBSCO, hold over 2,000 RCTs on herbs
and over 10,000 RCTs on vitamins and minerals ALREADY!
ATMS is the leading professional Natural Therapies association in Australia, representing
over 10,000 practitioners across more than 20 modalities.
