Blue light irritates your eyes, and causes you to squint unconsciously, leading to blurred vision, headaches, sleep disruption and poor concentration. And without a break from screen time, your eyes never have time to recover – causing chronic digital eye strain.
Added to this, blue light causes your sleep to suffer by restraining the production of melatonin. This is the hormone that controls your sleep cycle, so this reduction makes it harder to fall and stay asleep.
The symptoms of digital eye strain can have dire consequences for all aspects of your life – but especially for your career. If you have reduced concentration at work and difficulty focusing – not to mention general exhaustion – it’s no wonder sufferers experience a huge loss of productivity. They may often need time off work.
